ADRIANO CLOSES IN ON ROMA MOVE

Adriano - set for Roma move.

Adriano has arrived in Italy as he prepares to sort out the final details of his move to Roma.

The Brazil international was widely considered one of the best players in the world while at Inter Milan but his reported love of the city's night life combined with personal problems and injuries saw him terminate his contract with the Nerazzurri in April 2009 and return home to Brazil, where he played for Flamengo.

Adriano, who is a free agent after his contract with Flamengo came to an end, is expected to sign a three-year deal with Roma on Tuesday and is excited about rebuilding his reputation in an attacking partnership with captain Francesco Totti.

"I'm really very happy," he told awaiting journalists as he landed in Milan on Monday lunchtime.

"I have to work so much and have great training sessions and I hope everything will go well.

"I have a great desire to play together with Totti and to show good things in Italy."

During his difficult last year in Italy, Inter stood by the player and granted him his wish to return home, where he rediscovered his goalscoring touch at Flamengo.

Adriano's official debut is likely to be against his former club in the Supercoppa in August, and the 28-year-old is looking forward to the clash.

He added: "It will be a pleasure to play against Inter in the Supercoppa, I have so much respect for this club and for the president (Massimo) Moratti."

Adriano's contract with Roma reportedly carries a clause which allows the capital club to terminate his deal immediately in the case of serious disciplinary breaches or unprofessional behaviour.
