Deportivo La Coruna winger Guardado started every game as Mexico qualified for the World Cup in South Africa but had to be content with a place on the bench for the recent tour of Europe which saw them meet England, Holland, Italy and Gambia.
"Any player who says he is happy on the bench is lying," said Guardado today.
"I am ambitious and want to show my best and being on the bench is not good for any player with a winning attitude.
"But I have no problem with Javier, I respect him and he should be supported on and off the field."
Guardado is among
a new generation of young Mexican talent, with the likes of Javier Hernandez, Carlos Vela and Giovani Dos Santos also tipped to shine in South Africa.
"Mexico have the ability to make World Cup history but we have to prove it on the pitch," he added.
"We are full of hope and we have the mentality. Man for man we have the talent and style of play which gives us hope that we can do well at the World Cup."
